Scope
In 2025, Volvo Nederland started the nationwide rollout of the renewed Volvo Spread Word Mark. Where the previous logo used more compact lettering, Volvo has now chosen a wider typographic style that reflects the modern, electric and digital future of the brand.
In collaboration with Peelen Interieur, responsible for the visual concepts, MSI-Sign Group is handling the removal of the existing signage and the installation of the new brand elements across all 82 Dutch Volvo locations.
The result
The rollout involves an interesting technical challenge. Although the new logo retains the same recognisable brand appearance, the new letters are lower and wider than the previous version.
Because the new word marks often need to be installed on existing mounting supports and load-bearing structures, careful technical preparation is essential. The scope also includes various pylons with heights of up to 9.3 metres, requiring large trucks, cranes and an experienced installation team.
Thanks to thorough preparation and close collaboration between Volvo Nederland, Peelen Interieur and MSI-Sign Group, façade lettering, pylons, totems, Blue Shields and service signage are being successfully replaced. This gives the locations a renewed appearance without compromising the recognisability and quality of the Volvo brand.
The future
At this stage, around 60% of the locations have been completed, with the next 20% already scheduled. By the end of 2026 or early 2027, all 82 Dutch Volvo locations are expected to feature the new branding.
This will give Volvo a uniform and future-proof brand appearance that aligns with the next phase of the brand. Within a period of approximately eighteen months, the complete dealer network will be updated, making an important contribution to the further modernisation of Volvo’s retail environment.
